This week, June 27-28, the Twin-Control consortium gathered for a plenary meeting at IK4-TEKNIKER’s facilities in Eibar, Spain. The aim of the meeting was to review recent advances of the project and to make all preparations for the industrial implementation of Twin-Control, scheduled to be performed this October.
During the plenary meeting, special sessions were devoted to check the status of the different modules developed within Twin-Control, which are almost finished, and to present the first steps in their integration. In addition, partners had the chance to see a demonstration of the automated Machine Tool characterization test procedure at IK4-TEKNIKER’s lab machine.
Twin-Control project has recently passed its midterm. The technical development stage is finishing and the industrial validation stage, very relevant for the project, will start in two months. The next steps comprise the integration of developed simulation and monitoring modules, as well as the implementation of integrated systems into demonstration scenarios.
According to project coordinator Mikel Armendia, Twin-Control “goes as expected”. “All partners have almost finished their technical developments and we are working in the integration towards the Twin-Control solution. In the next months, this integrated system will be implemented in two industrial use cases, RENAULT and MASA, for its validation”.
